PENDULUMS FOR DIVING
Definition: A body suspended from a fixed support so that it swings
freely back and forth under the influence of gravity, commonly used to regulate
various devices, especially clocks. Also called a pendulum.

The pendulum is a most useful tool and it has been said that even the beginner
can achieve at least seventy percent accuracy. The possibilities of usage are
virtually unlimited. In this writing I will deal with basic skill in ones quest
for information. Just let your imaginations guide you.
I would like to state before you continue there are certain guidelines that
need to be adhered to in order to achieve your goal. In communicating with
spirit and the universe, we must always keep in mind that there are high and
low energies all around us. In this workshop as well as most workshops dealing
and working with spirit energies, you must protect yourself from the lower
energies in order to maintain a high level of accuracy.
Therefore, it is my recommendation to either ask for the highest and best or
your own method of protection before you start. I have found when working with
spirit it is always what works for you. I also would like to point out when
asking for information from spirit or whatever or wherever you feel the answers
come from. Whether it be spirit or you higher self or
universe. The bottom line is that you get what you ask for or the best
answer at that particular point in time.
Keep in mind that the universe as well as everything in it is
in constant change. So what is today may not be tomorrow. This should be kept
in mind when working with the pendulum. Another point I would like to make is
that when you use the pendulum to divine, your answer is literal so your
question should be asked in literal form. A good example would be something
like this.
Is my name Bill Smith? The pendulum indicates NO.
You say now the answer should have been yes because your name is Bill Smith?
Boy, this dumb pendulum thing does not work well at all!
Let us look at this and try to figure out what went wrong. My name is Bill
Smith. The answer may have been correct if Bill Smith was your true name. Your
true name is “William Jo Smith”. Ah, does this change things a bit?
Now this leads to other possible non-answers. If I may ask you, are all answers
yes or no? Can you have a maybe? It has been my experience
when working with the pendulum that sometimes there can be no right or wrong
answer to the question you are attempting to divine. Perhaps the information
you are after is leaning to a positive percentage of yes, but due to changing
energies it is not a definite Yes or No at this time. You may get an
uncommitted answer. This will become clear later when we learn to calibrate and
work with our pendulum.
Before we learn to calibrate a pendulum we must be in a state of mind to allow
us to be open. Use whatever method of clearing your mind that you choose. Once
you are clear you are now ready to “Calibrate” your pendulum. Holding your pendulum in either your right, left or both hands,
slightly off a surface. Ask out loud to show you the direction it will swing
for a yes answer. Then repeat the question for a no answer. I will give you a
method I use; you may alter it to suit your preference. I ask it to swing back
and forth for Yes and Side to side for No.
Left to right swings indicate a "no" response. Vertical
swings in the opposite direction idicate a
"yes" response.
(NOTE: I have seen people calibrate their pendulum to circle clockwise for yes
and counter clockwise for no. It is as always your preference.)
When divining if your pendulum circles, with the back and forth and side ways
calibration it could mean that there is not enough information at this time to
give a good answer. Another possibility is that it does not swing quite yes or
quite no. You would read your answer by asking yourself if it is swinging more
back and forth than side to side would indicate that it is leaning more toward
yes than no or visa versa but not definite at this time.
The pendulum is a “TOOL” and should not rule your decision-making but may be
used as an aid in your decision-making.
I hope this introduction to the pendulum will enhance your mediumship skills
and abilities. And in your everyday life aid you. As with any skill the more
you use it the better it becomes.
